PALATY IS A GALLERY OF LOCAL DESIGN AND FUNCTIONAL ART

We open our St. Petersburg space In April, simultaneously with the start of quarantine. With doors securely locked, we hold the first shooting and celebrate the summer publications in AD Blueprint Elle Decoration Interior Plus Design and other magazines. All summer we work hard in the shadow of the social distance ban.

We gather friends and discuss vital issues with Harry Nuriev. This is the first time we get to introduce local design live, which brings us special joy. Since then, we have been holding exhibition tours for those who wish. It's something we dedicate our time to with love.

We take a test run to Dagestan and get familiar with the culture of the region. We don't find any masters but gain valuable life experience.

We conduct this expedition with skill and awareness. We spend the night wherever we get to, our car gets stuck in oceans of mud, and we live life camping-style. We discover three permanent authors for the Palaty collection, plus we launch a series of wall panels inspired by the journey. Authors: Gromtseva, Belyaev, Kameneva.

We visit the masters' workshops, examine the Kremlin, and fall into sublime melancholy from Pskov in November.

The diffuser from Collection No. 1 ends up in the museum exhibition, goes through two changes, and remains there to this day.

We decorate the Wynwood hotel room with items from local craftsmen. We take the way the traditional Russian cottage for inspiration, but reimagine each item: a chest from recycled plastic, a bed cover made from clothes unraveled in fabrics, pillows with traditional botanical patterns of Tatarstan, and much more.

5 days, 1846 km, 64500 steps, 18 meetings. We see a lot and learn a lot.

We update our St. Petersburg space and present a kitchen created in collaboration with the Horomy architectural studio. We thought it to be an ideal union. We reinforce the idea by creating the first model from our parlor collection.

For the first time, we embark on a journey not in search of new talents, but to meet our permanent authors personally. We fall in love with the region, get inspired by nature, and build heartfelt connections. Authors: Mazloev, Khalilova.

We complete our eight-month preparation with the opening of our space in Moscow, where we showcase only new, exclusive items in a gallery format. Assured in our capabilities, we begin the transition to powerful actions.

Together with the Myth Gallery in St. Petersburg, we release a collection of objects in the category of functional art. We create a bench based on the sketches by Ulyana Podkorytova, a bedspread from Alina Glazun, and a folding screen designed by Lyudmila Baranina.

Especially for this exhibition, we hold an open call for young furniture brands and showcase five excellent new projects.

In our native city of St. Petersburg, we showcase the best of the Palaty collection.

In August 2023, the Chambers team set off on another expedition to Kuban, the native land of Julia Loboyko, the gallery’s founder,. During this trip, we discovered new authors and collected unique objects, which were later exhibited at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts.

In September 2023, Palaty made a debut at the Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair. The stand’s concept was based on the theme of liminality and transitional states.

The exhibition at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts in Moscow featured our treasures from the Kuban expedition. Julia Loboyko also curated tours for guests.

Together with a team of international architects DA BUREAU we created one of the most complex design objects - a kitchen model.

In April 2024, our expedition to the Irkutsk region took place. Together with Siberian authors and with the support of the Association of Industrial and Object Designers, we started working on a joint collection.

At the beginning of the summer the Palaty Gallery took part in the international art fair 1703 for the second time.
