To date, the geography of our trips covers Dagestan, the Vologda and Pskov regions, Kazan, Kabardino-Balkaria, Kuban, Irkutsk, and the Samara region.
In expeditions, we explore the life, culture, and those special spiritual settings that bind Russian-speaking people together. Through objects, we broadcast values and continuity. We unite tradition and modernity.
These trips provide a deep immersion in the context, helping us to better understand and, therefore, present regional art and design to the outside world.
Since its founding, PALATY has been actively engaged in research and curatorial work, including expeditions to the regions of Russia
Through the objects in our collection, we present the culture of our country in all its geographical, climatic, and historical diversity.
The PALATY Gallery is the first space in Russia that not only brought together authors working with local traditions but also offered a new way of interacting with decorative arts - as a full-fledged form of contemporary artistic expression. We find, support, curate, create, and show the world what rightfully deserves attention – the design and crafts of our country.
We build on heritage and reinterpret it. We showcase design and decorative arts in a modern interpretation, relevant and in demand today. We see particular value in the search for a new identity, as well as in supporting authentic design and craftsmanship.
Our mission is to find and integrate local DNA into art and design objects that are in demand both locally and internationally. Each work in our collection carries a deep personal meaning and reflects the unique characteristics that are shaped by the climate, culture, and history of our country.
PALATY is a gallery of decorative arts and collectible design, founded in St. Petersburg in 2020 by Yulia Loboyko
